what was the song …
what was the song at the end?
Does anyone think …
Does anyone think Paul Thomas Anderson is Stanley Kubrick’s prodigy?
what an amazing …
what an amazing tributeā¦pt anderson is hands down the best contemporary filmmaker in hollywood
@JohnathanTravolta …
@JohnathanTravolta ALL are five great films with two of the greatest films ever made (“Boogie Nights” and “There Will Be Blood”).
looking forward to …
looking forward to seeing his next film.
@Cobainpunk74 …
@Cobainpunk74 Underrated by the studio, overrated by his and Robert Altman fans, not respected enough by the general public, and on his way to being one of the best.
“If you make a good movie, its only 50 % of the work. The other 50 % is negotiating with studio politics” – which can be like explaining to a very rich and spoiled 4 year old why there aren’t any lasers in your movie and why the story makes his brain hurt.
Truley underrated. …
Truley underrated. This guy IS the Shit!
P.T.!
i despise …
P.T.!
i despise that ‘the master’ is postponed… it makes me so angry, its been a while since a perfect movie has been released, i thought the master was a sure thing for a perfect film… i think the last perfect movie was Inglourious Basterds, though There Will Be Blood is probably the best movie made in the last 15 years or so
@KatesPinkZeppelin …
@KatesPinkZeppelin The reason I made the case is because Kubrick and Nolan both write and direct. Rarely are films complete and utter projects of the directors’ visions, but in the case of both of these guys, they are. Tarantino gets a lot of props too, it’s just that they don’t fit my personal taste. I think they’re shallow and stylish. Tarantino can totally ignore the idea of plot and call it ’stylish’ when it’s really just a concept stretched into a movie.
@insertclevername14 …
@insertclevername14 Yeah he is great and it’s fair enough if you think that, I would say Tarantino’s films keep a high level of quality as well.
@KatesPinkZeppelin …
@KatesPinkZeppelin And I would argue that they do compare. Between Memento, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, and Inception, no other contemporary director has managed to pull off a procession of films with nearly this level of consistent quality. And this is all within the course of 10 years. If he continues on the path that he’s already paved for himself, who knows…
He’s the type of …
He’s the type of filmmaker that I’ve found that every time I’ve watched one of his movies, any one of the five, I’ll like it more than the time before- they just get better and you love em more.
Very well done …
Very well done tribute. Nice work. IImpressive.
3:54 One of my …
3:54 One of my favourite shots of all time.
@CamWholley Yeah, …
@CamWholley Yeah, but I doubt any of them will become a kubrick, especially Nolan, Kubrick was making A Clockwork Orange/ The Shining, films like the dark knight/ memento don’t really compare in my opinion.
@CamWholley they’ll …
@CamWholley they’ll never be another Kubrick EVER. But I’m almost 100% convinced that Paul Thomas Anderson is Stanley Kubrick’s only son that no one knew about. ; ) Can’t wait for “The Master”.
@brickbusterful I …
@brickbusterful I prefer Punch-Drunk Love over Magnolia, but other than that I agree with your list. And though Hard Eight (Sydney) is his weakest, its still a good film and a strong directorial debut.
You can really see …
You can really see how Scorsese influenced Anderson in this video.
He just needs an …
He just needs an action thriller to get ahead of Nolan in becoming the next Kubrick
Great great video…
