Overture, google, etc
I have a competitior that challenges me at $6.00 per click per keyword. Is this normal? I think its high. Or is he just high.
Truth is, higher prices give you the impression of more value just by itself. If you want my advice, NEVER compete with low prices, it’s stupid. I’d never even mention low prices, instead I’d mention value and do my best to deliver. Then you don’t need to appologize for your prices (and shouldn’t eighter). I have a friend who opened a club in my city and he told me from the get-go that he will charge more than anybody else around. Of course he made the place more exciting than any other place I know of around here, and people came! Because his pitch didn’t include the price but the VALUE. It’s one of the most popular clubs in my city right now.
I have seen PPC at rate around $12-$70.00. There is no rule as to how high can it go. Your competition and you both create demand for a particular PPC. Maybe instead of being no.1 all the time you may consider re-writing your ad little bit better. Make description more personal and appealing.
Most companies simply describe their products, such "great product with a low price" If you make it"Buy all other products first. If they fail, use ours."
Kind of makes you think outside the box. With these kinds of ads you can find keywords that are cheaper. Think different and be more creative when it comes to ads.

Dont ever get involved with price wars. Percieved value and service are always priority.Getting involved with "dutch auctions will kill you. Make your price with margins that you can give service to and make a profit.Remember it’s not only getting new clients that is important, but the retention of them.

Exactly the amount that gives me the highest number of clicks, with the greatest return on investment dollars.
You better be tracking your keyword costs, and how they translate to profits. If you are figuring your return on investment for your campaigns, you won’t care if it is $.05 or if it’s $100.00, as long as you are making the highest ROI possible.
